Paul Wells and the Downtown State College Improvement District developed the Last Cruise 5k Race to provide a fundraising opportunity for a community non-profit organization in the Centre Region. The Youth Service Bureau was selected because of their outstanding commitment and services provided to residents of Centre County. The Youth Service Bureau (CCYSB) is a private, non-profit human service organization serving Families in need. On an annual basis, more than 2,500 children, youth and families receive aid and services from 13 YSB community-based, family-based, and residential programs located in Bellefonte, Philipsburg, Snow Shoe, and State College initial meetings were held with Paul Wells, Teresa Sparacino and Marc Warren and it was decided that the inaugural race would be entitled The Last Cruise 5K and would be held on the same date as the Last Cruise.

The race is held on the Pennsylvania State University historic campus and it is the goal that each year the route will change to attract runners from year to year, providing them with an enjoyable, scenic and accurate course. In 2007, a check in the amount of $1,830.00 was presented to the Youth Service Bureau. The Race will be held the last Saturday of July on an annual basis in conjunction with the Last Cruise Car Show. The Last Cruise 5k Race would not have been possible without the generosity and continual support from our sponsors.
